Drawing on our team’s expertise in assisting caregivers and families affected by substance use, we provide decision support and digital therapeutic solutions. We seek to maintain leading-edge solutions that remote support biometric validation of substance use and predictive analysis of patient substance use, aiming to improve their health outcomes and recovery journey.

Neowithdrawal

Our Neowithdrawal™ Program provides thorough training for NAS/NOWS care providers following the Eat, Sleep, and Console Model of Care. It includes 7 modules and grants caregivers 2 Nursing Continuing Professional Development hours. Additionally, six Case Competency Scenarios offering real-world examples are provided ensuring consistency in patient care.

Appropos Health

Appropos Health is a digital therapeutic for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) that employs Contingency Management. Delivered via a user-friendly mobile app, offering convenient on-the-go access. The program integrates with healthcare providers and Electronic Health Records and utilizes machine learning to ensure optimal, personalized treatment.

Custom Research

Our platform offers customizable solutions to support the development of specific policies, quality improvement methods, and research projects. We seamlessly integrate with academic and EHR systems, incorporating screenings, Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), and contingency management. Our adaptable content and services are designed to enhance adjunct treatments and drive superior outcomes.

Dr. Sterling McPherson is a leader in Experimental Psychology and Quantitative Methods. He and his team have been lead collaborators on the development of NAS products. Dr. McPherson and Dr. Mike McDonnel, a Clinical Psychologist and Professor at the College of Medicine, have also collaborated on Contingency Management solutions to reduce alcohol use.

We are a sub-awardee on a Department of Defense grant working with Dr. Maureen Schmitter-Edgecombe to develop EMMA, a digital memory notebook for persons with cognitive impairment. The project also includes a mastery-based training component which supports machine learning to adapt the skill lessons to the user performance.

Additional Collaborations
& Future Research

Our experience includes assisting a regional hospital acquire and implement a CMS Innovation grant to reduce hospital mortality and support for training related to smoking cessation. Look forward to additional projects to support stigma training and implementation of Just in Time Adaptive Interventions with additional collaborators.

Clinical Director

Level III NICU, Clinical Nurse Specialist in hospital and healthcare settings, contributing to the advancement of NICU care practices for over 30 years. Active in the Washington State Perinatal Collaborative. Former editor of AWHONN’s Neonatal Orientation Education Program (NOEP). Recognized as a national expert in the care of infants with prenatal drug exposure.
